The Hollywood Bowl is an outdoor amphitheater in the Cahuenga Pass, the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and host to big-name concerts from late spring into the fall. It holds about 17,500 people, and most of them arrive in the same hour before the show.
The Bowl runs its own shuttle and park and ride system, and its buses drop at the top of the stacked parking lots and pick up after the show at the transportation hub on Highland Avenue. Charter groups follow the Bowl's current guidance for bus drop and pickup, which the operator confirms before the date.
The venue sits right beside the 101, and Highland Avenue is the only practical way in and out. Traffic backs up from Franklin Avenue to the pass before a sold-out show, so the Bowl itself recommends arriving well ahead. Many groups picnic on the grounds before the concert, which makes an early arrival easy.
The exit is the slow part. The stacked lots empty one after another, and buses queue for their turn. Tell the group where the bus will load and plan for a departure about 20 to 30 minutes after the encore.
Pricing is one all-in number with driver, fuel, standard mileage and tolls. A concert night from Downtown, the Westside or Pasadena usually runs five to six hours door to door.
