Washington does not run a separate student activity bus certification for charter operators the way California does, so there is no state student-trip endorsement to ask for here. What matters instead is the operator credential and your own district paperwork. Operators in the network hold a Washington UTC charter and excursion carrier certificate under RCW 81.70 and pass CVSA vehicle inspection, and carry current insurance filings, driver background checks and a drug and alcohol testing program. Confirm your district's own charter requirements before you book, because districts across King, Pierce and Snohomish counties set their own additional conditions on insurance limits, chaperone ratios and approved vendor lists.
The Seattle field trip calendar is dense and predictable. The Museum of Flight and Pacific Science Center take the elementary volume, Woodland Park Zoo and the Seattle Aquarium take the younger end, Mount Rainier and the Skagit Valley tulip fields take the spring day trips, and the Boeing Future of Flight tour at Paine Field takes the middle school science groups. University work is different again: team and band travel to away games, admitted student days, orientation moves and research field trips out to the Olympic Peninsula or over Snoqualmie Pass. Plan roughly one adult per 10 to 12 students on a day trip, and remember chaperone seats come out of the bus capacity rather than sitting on top of it.
